Hall Road Rangers look to make it ten games unbeaten this weekend when Grimsby Borough are the latest to visit Haworth Park (3pm)
Following Tuesday’s narrow 2-1 win over Winterton Rangers, Hall Road boss Dave Ricardo was full admiration for a Grimsby side, that like Hall Road are enjoying a successful season following a couple of years of struggle.
“Going forward they break very fast and are very creative in the wide areas.” Ricardo admitted
“Their season has been very stop-start in terms of games been played.
They beat Glasshoughton comfortably in midweek and still have a fair few games left to play.”
Having set such high standards since the defeat to Grimsby Borough in October, Ricardo also pin-pointed where he believes Hall Road can cause the Lincolnshire side problems.
“I think we can get at them centrally and just in front of their back four.
I have no doubt its going to be a battle, but when we are not playing well, the team we have, has a lot of heart and when you have that you always have half a chance.
We have a willingness to go and nick a game, we did that on Tuesday night and on Saturday we’ll go try and do it again.”
Following that 5-2 reversal at Grimsby Borough in October, Hall Road have since only been beaten twice in the nineteen games which have followed, and are unbeaten in their previous nine matches.
This is a run which has seen them go from a side expected to be around the play-offs to one, which potentially may get promoted automatically.
This game although will not decide Hall Road Rangers fate, will go some way towards doing so, as the club also awaits the decision from the NCEL with regards to the Shirebrook abandonment and any potential point allocation.
Ricardo and his assistant Bill Gill are also currently blessed with the fact their playing staff are staying clear of injuries.
They are without one player this weekend though as Conner Harman starts a two match suspension.
Entry is £5 / £2.50, however adults can save £2 when buying the Matchday Saver, which for £10 also includes, a drink, hot food, a raffle ticket, and a programme.
