Hull United AFC have today appointed Ashley Moon as our new Chairman.
Ashley has been a part of Hull United AFC from our first season, when East Hull Saints Football teams came across to re-join with St Andrews and reforming as Hull United AFC. Having been the chairman of East Hull Saints and seeing the hard work and dedication Ashley brings to the role we are delighted to have made the appointment.
Ashley is active in the local amateur football scene, also sitting on the Hull and District Youth Football League Committee as the Representative Football Secretary, as well as helping run the Hull United soccer school.
Here’s what Ashley had to say about the new role…
“I’m pleased to take up this role within Hull United AFC and hope I can help bring some stability to the club after a turbulent few months. I know as a committee we are all dedicated to making Hull United AFC a success and that must start with our youth teams. We will endeavour to provide the children the best platform to improve their football and social skills whilst learning the game in a an environment that ensures players, coaches and parents from all teams enjoy training and the match day experience. This includes developing our relationship with the Steve Prescott Centre so that we are able to provide all our teams some of the best training facilities currently available within the City. The plan for the first team is to establish ourselves with the right infrastructure in place so that we are able to compete at higher levels when the time is right. Initially we will ensure that the first team are run within their means and set an example the rest of the club can be proud to follow. I know there’s a lot of hard work ahead and some bridges to build but we hope we can build on the success of our youth teams and build a club people are proud to play for and support.”
Hull United would also like to welcome Kev Grantham to the committe, Kev will take up the role of Membership / Supporters Liaison officer.
