A new Active Parks programme has launched in Hull encouraging more families to get active and ‘Try It’ this winter.
Hull Culture and Leisure are offering a range of FREE events across Hull’s parks so people can participate in a range of activities, aimed at beginners or anyone that wants to get active over winter. Activities include health walks, cycle rides, football, tennis and plenty more diverse and fun sporting activities.
The campaign also offers plenty of services, including the ‘Bike Doctor’, where you can service your bike for free! to get it up and running again, they then offer to complete low-level repairs to any bikes for up to the value of £10.
A ‘Kit Library’ is also available, with a free membership pass. The Kit Library offers you and your family the opportunity to loan out brand new equipment suitable for any of the activities you want to take part in.
Discover Hull! Health walks are available for members. These are designed to find ‘hidden gems’ in Hull, the walks include talks en route by Park Rangers on subjects such as the natural environment, wild life, trees and plants, all while discovering the parts of Hull that you not have seen before.
From trying something new to family based activities, there is a lot of activities to get your teeth into.
They are also running free Angling fishing sessions, for beginners and families to have a go at fishing in one of their purpose built facilities in Pickering Park or Noddle Hill Nature Reserve. Equipment and even the bait will be provided.
Plenty is on offer for free to help you stay active and fit over this winter period. At least ‘Try It’.
