Hall Road Rangers planned game against Teversal at Haworth Park was cancelled in surprising circumstances. Rangers currently sit fourth in the table and with Teversal languishing down in 18th spot the request from Teversal to postpone the game came as a disappointment to Dave Ricardo and his hopes of closing on the top spot.
Teversal allegedly made the request off the back of three of their squad players receiving a call-up to play in an under 18s County Representatives side.
The request came as a surprise to Rangers who were looking to maintain momentum in the league following their own FA Vase success.
“The postponement of the Teversal fixture on Saturday was frustrating for a number of reasons.” Said Ricardo “On a personal note I have attempted previously to call a fixture off due to 3/4 Und18-year-oldold players being on representative duty however was told this wasnt possible.”
“From a team point of view the lads are frustrated as we are on a good run of form and momentum is key when a team is winning”.
Lastly clubs at this level want as few games as possible during the winter months as the less games on the heavy pitches the better. The club is trying desperately to get the game re arranged for this coming Tuesday, we hope the league use common sense and confirm this.”
“On another note we have a couple of new signings to be announced which will bolster the squad immensely as the game will be coming thick and fast due to our progress in the Vase and League Cup “ concluded Ricardo
Rangers are attempting to re-arrange the fixture for Tuesday evening at Haworth Park but if that is unsuccessful they will have to wait a week to travel to Grimsby Borough.
