MATCH REPORT: Hall Road Rangers vs Sculcoates Amateurs 16/7

Written by

Hall Road Rangers met face to face with Humber Premier League side Sculcoates Amateurs on Saturday and felt the full force of the former league champion in a 3-0 defeat.  Rangers manager Dave Ricardo is still playing with his starting line up and is yet to decide on his strongest side.  Despite signing quality players his lads didn’t show the cohesive performance they did against Bridlington Town earlier in the week.

“Tuesday night’s performance and result against an opposition like Brid doesn’t make us the best team in the league and yesterday’s defeat doesn’t make us the worst.”

“What it does do I hope is tune in the player’s minds that we cannot roll over opposition which we feel is inferior to ourselves.”

“Full credit to Mark Lever and his team as they stuck at it and got their rewards. Our performance confirmed that a number of players aren’t to the required quality and what I didn’t expect was that some of the players that are, are require to show a better desire and attitude in these games.”

“Having said that I will take the blame in terms of preparation and set up. We’re a team in its infancy and yesterday could have just come at the right time in order to focus our minds and not get carried away.” said Ricardo

Rangers will now face a side that have yet to grace the pitch at Haworth Park as Long Eaton United pay a visit next Saturday.  With Rangers fixtures due out very soon their opening games of the season will also soon be revealed.  Kick off will be 3pm next Saturday at Haworth Park.
