A mixed day for local sides in the NCEL as Bridlington Town Football Club beat Retford United 5-2 to continue their mini run of form. An earlier goal from Jenkinson [pictured] got the seasiders off to a great start in the 2nd minute only for Hands to equalise for Retford in the 22nd. Tom Fleming and another from Jenkinson, meant the home side went in 3-1 at the break. Brett Agnew grabbed a pair in the second half with Retford’s Carter getting a concelation goal in between. Bridlington now look onto to Thursday’s East Riding County FA Cup Semi Final against Riccall United at the Roy West Centre. 

Westella VIP FC ran out comprehensive 4-0 winners at home to Glasshoughton Welfare. Goals from Spinks, Wood and a brace from McFadyen mean Leon Sewells’ side win 4 on the spin, scoring 15 and conceding 1 in the process.

Hall Road Rangers (Official) had a tough trip across the humber to Grimsby Borough; In a high scoring game, HRR managed 3 away goals, but shipped 3 to allow Grimsby to go ahead them in the table. With games in hand Thacker will be confident his men can turn the table in coming weeks.

Winterton Rangers F.C. get back to winning ways after 4 straight defeats. Against a Teversal side also out of form, Lee Hastings men ran out 3-1 winners to stay in 17th. Lee, was pleased with his sides’ performance, and felt it could have been by a bigger margin, he added “We were very dominant today. The game could and should of been more comfortable. We have a cup final on Tuesday, so today was a case of looking after players. On reflection, leaving out a few key players, no injuries, and getting a result was just what we wanted.”
