Hall Road Rangers will open their season at home on Saturday to Glasshoughton Welfare in the NCEL Division one. With Dave Ricardo having compiled a strong team on paper for the coming season hopes will be high at Haworth Park that Rangers can improve on their 17th placed finish at the end of last season.
Glasshoughton finished just one place above Rangers last season in 16th and with not much to tell between the two sides it will be a good benchmark for Ricardo’s new boys to set themselves against.
Before the match, Dave Ricardo said “I’m sure all supporters, players, committee members and chairman’s across The NCEL have the same feeling I do of what this season can bring.”
“It’s a sense of schoolboy optimism that hits in every year at the same time with thoughts of silverware not far from everyone’s objectives.”
“From a manager’s point of view plans are created Saturday to Saturday, Tuesday to Tuesday on how we can beat the opposition, how we can get the best from the talented group of players we have and how I can keep the misses happy being out 3/4 nights a week training, playing and scouting!”
Kick off to the start of a long 2016/17 season will be 3pm at Haworth Park, HU6 7DY.
