Under 14 Plate Final

Written by

AFC Kinloss 0 v Hedon Rangers 3

What a lovely Sunday for Hedon and Kinloss to travel to Bridlington Town AFC stadium for the Plate final.

Both teams come out looking ready for this game. Hedon were very shaky for the first ten minutes, but Kinloss were unable to gain the advantage as Hedon defence held tight

However, Hedon found their game and were rewarded when Jay Marshall passed the ball out from the 18 yard box to the edge of the D for Zak Sugden to drive home into the bottom left 1 nil to Hedon. They then started to play the pass and move football that the supporters are use to seeing

With the temperature raising a water break was taken, but this didn’t stop the play from Hedon. Now that they had found their feet and their midfield of Sam Pipes, Spencer Medforth, Tommy Hutchinson, James Bibby, Havery Richardson and Sam Beharrell picking up all of the play, were soon on the score sheet again when Richardson passed the ball through to Marshall, who ran forward, held off a Kinloss player to then place passed the keeper to make it 2 nil to Hedon

Hedon were in the mood and where soon on the attack again when Marshall won the ball in midfield and passed it wide to Sugden to cross into the box, which saw Will Walker tap home to make it 3 nil to Hedon at Half time.

Kinloss came out in the second half with something to prove and made Hedon’s defence of James Willingham, Harvey Chelu, Liam Smith, Jack Gardner, Lennon Julier and Keeper Harry Walker, having to work hard to keep a clean sheet. Kinloss kept applying the pressure only going wide on a number of occasions. Well played Kinloss but unfortunately Hedon proved too strong on the day.

A very enjoyable game to watch well done both teams
